In August when it all began
Our hopes of trees and flowers
Seemed distant dreams amongst the clouds
As we toiled outside for hours
- The brook was cleared the trees were
thinned
- Willow fencing carefully tended
- The grass was mown and weeded
- And the sheds and tables mended
-
- The spring arrived the blossom bloomed
- The children came to play
- Mums and Dads sat drinking
- On a warm and sunny day
-
- In this quiet little village
- The Jackal hides around a bend
- You will always find a warm welcome
- So spread the word and tell a friend
